this time we'll leave this town

Ahoy! Long time no see.
I mailed in my Sheridan animation portfolio today, so hopefully it survives the trip across the Pacific and then some. I'm still super nervous but I've accepted that it's okay if I don't get in - I'll post my full portfolio and the score sheet when I receive it within the next few months! Also submitted my CalArts portfolio a while ago but my hopes are mostly riding on Canada.

Other updates: I graduated from BBiomed last December, so I guess I now have that under my belt.

Aannnd I finally updated my website domain! I've refreshed the design a bit but hopefully I'll be doing a full revamp soon. See here! -> anneliesemak.com

And of course since it's been so long, here's a ridiculous amount of sketches... sorry hahah.

with the plainest clarity

...gonna skip the usual apology spiel this time, I think it just goes without saying? Things have been slow lately but it occurs to me that college application deadlines are super close and I'm freaking out a little - I have a few other things but they're directly going into my portfolio(s) so I'll post those when I get the results! (hahah ha ha..)
Just a bunch of sketches (including some studies from the local children's farm), commissions and two illustrations I did for my university's student newspaper

hey kemosabe!

Aaand part two! This one includes the oil paintings I did for my winter subject at uni. As well as my (re)discovery that ballpoint pens are hella fun to draw with. (courtesy of being left alone with nothing but paper and ballpoints during exam period). In any case, it would seem my biomedicine degree now has two art credits part of it? Score.
I also forgot to mention in part 1, I've been working on a ~secret children's book~ the past few months with a fairly well-known Australian author - I can't disclose much now but hopefully soon!

(thank goodness for Blogger's blessedly efficient image upload system. Now please someone kick me so I update more often and don't have to resort to these massive posts... -me, for the past 5 years)

Soooo back to rocking back and forth over my portfolio I suppose, à bientôt o/
